avoid hitting and also don't make it casual hitting you back
let him know what is right and what is wrong show him atleast with your expressions that you disagree with this behaviour

A lot of time this happens because kids are usually having some kind of an issue or discomfort which is when they behave like this second maybe associated with teeth coming and third if your child is trying to hit you First need to understand where your child is learning all these things from
