Q.

Hello Doctor I had stopped breast feeding my 3 months old son in day time and started to give him formula milk (I breastfeed him in night 2 times) as I was not producing milk as much as required, this is what I thought. Can I again start my breast feed as I was doing it. Earlier it used to leak when I do not feed him on time but now a days I don’t feel heavy, so I stopped feeding him. It’s just 15-20 days since I’m doing this. Otherwise, I was exclusively breast feeding him.

A. yes can do so exclusive breastfeeding has to be continued till completion of 6 months of age and you have to drink plenty of water and at least 500 ml milk everyday as well as homemade food from cereals pulses vegetable milk and fruits daily e as well as you can go for shatavari supplement which will also help in increasing the breast milk formation (eg lactonic granules, galact granules etc ) also take multivitamins iron calcium and vitamin d along with folic acid. follow all this steps to increase breast milk formation.
