Green colour stool is normal only,
If baby is passing urine minimum 6-8 times per day.
Don't give so much importance to motion unless blood in motion or bad smelling motion.
Consistently green stools in the breastfed baby can indicate an imbalance of foremilk/hindmilk,
often resulting in frothy green stools. ... Teething can also bring about green stools due to increased saliva.
A lot of green vegetables or something with green food coloring in mom's diet also cause green colour motion in baby.
POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. Green, mushy poop in a one-year-old can be normal and doesn't necessarily indicate diarrhea. Here are a few points to consider:
1. **Diet Changes:** If your child has recently started eating more fruits, vegetables, or foods with green dyes (like certain cereals), it can affect the color and consistency of their stool.
2. **Formula or Breast Milk:** If your child is still on formula or breastfeeding, changes in the composition of milk or formula can also impact stool color and consistency.
3. **Digestive Issues:** Green poop can sometimes indicate that food is moving through the digestive tract more quickly than usual, but this doesn't always mean diarrhea unless it's accompanied by other symptoms like increased frequency, watery consistency, or fussiness.
4. **Illness or Teething:** Occasionally, illness or teething can cause temporary changes in stool color and consistency. If your child is otherwise healthy and doesn't show signs of dehydration or discomfort, it's likely not diarrhea.
If you're concerned about your child's stool or they have other symptoms like fever, vomiting, or decreased appetite, it's best to consult with your pediatrician for personalized advice and to rule out any underlying issues.
