A. It is recommended not to give packet milk or cows milk or any other animal milk until baby is one year old. It will be harsh for the baby's still developing digestive system. If u cannot breastfeed due to various reasons you can consult with your pediatrician and start formula for your baby. Breastmilk is always the best milk. WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding until six months. So far no one was able to make a perfectly alternate product for breastmilk which is highly nutritious and has some incredible elements. Formula is a close to and safe choice for those who cannot exclusively breastfeed due to various reasons. Breastmilk is always the best milk but giving formula won't harm your baby. Try ur level best to breastfeed and supplement with formula if required. Your baby should be peeing anywhere between six to ten times a day which means the baby is taking feeds properly. If not then make sure the baby is latching and taking feeds well or if ur milk supply is sufficient. Also there should be a gradual weight gain. Keep a check on these factors.
