Q.

for my 9.5 months old baby I give solids 4 times a day and breastfeed her four times a day. I am not giving any formula milk or cow milk. is that suffices her calcium requirement or should I need to give her at least formula milk once a day..i am not sure how much she is consuming breast milk but she will be playing all the day

A. usually extra is not required as far as calcium is concerned calcium is available in good amount in milk and milk products. it is also available in good amount in pulses and cereals and fruits. also richley present in green leafy vegetables ragi, soyabean, chickpea, nuts, dryfruits, seeds, beans, lentils non vegetarian food as well as eggs fish contain good amount of calcium. if the above diet is given properly no need to give calcium supplements to the child
