HemaMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. the initial days are tough. try to eat healthy and protein rich diet as it helps to boost ur milk supply. if you are still not able to breastfeed the baby then look for good formula which contains HMOs and prebiotics and is close to breast milk. my sister wasn't able to breastfeed my nephew and doctor advised as to start with Aptamil Gold stage 1 for my 2.5 months old nephew. now my nephew is 5 months old as he is achieving all the milestones.. it is totally okay to start with formula mama.. don't feel low
Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Milk for babies specially in the initial days of life is very essential, breast milk is ideally the best and should be given exclusively till 5-6 months of age . if your baby is having proper weight gain and urine output then you can consider that the baby is getting satisfied with the milk and there is nothing to worry.
formula milk should be given only when suggested by your pediatrician as a substitute to breast milk if due to any reason it is not sufficient to fulfill the demand of the baby. according to the age differetrent stage of formula milk are there like stage 1 till 6 months of age stage 2 from 6 months to 12 months and thereafter stage 3 .
after one year cows milk should be started and any kind of health drink powder in milk should be used only after the completion of two years of age .
