Dr, i am mother of 10days old baby, i want to ask about her umbilical stump. her umbilical stump falls off some two days back. today we saw a drop of blood in ther diaper and bit of dried blood in belly button. is that normal or shd i do something to heal it

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. During the healing process, it's typical to see a little blood near the stump. Much like a scab, the cord stump might bleed a little when it falls off. However, contact your baby's health care provider if the umbilical area oozes pus, the surrounding skin becomes red and swollen, or the area develops a pink moist bump.
