Author of questionFather of 3 children2 years agoA. thank you doctor. my son is having 103°F temperature. we've given him 7ml of Paracetamol pediatric oral suspension (125 mg/5ml) every 5 hrs. his weight is 27 kgs and he's 6 yrs old.
his fever is still not subsided. the temperature is dropping for some time and again picking up. please suggest what to do. Are we giving him the correct dosage and at correct intervals?
Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. you have to give paracetamol for fever as well as pain according to the weight of the child as well as according to the strength of paracetamol medicine you are having.
there are different strength of paracetamol available in the market that is it may be in the drops formulation which might be having power of 100 mg or or 125 mg or 150 mg in each 1ml.d
in syrup formulation paracetamol has got different powers like 120/ 25mg and 240/ 250 mg in each 5ml.
so the doctor will calculate the dosage according to the power and weight of the child.f
paracetamol can be given max 4 times per day
