Q.

Doctor suggested ATARAX Syrup 5 ml twice daily when fever and just itching started at beginning . After 2 days my son of 2 years 3 months , 12.9 kg, was diagnosed with Hand Foot Mouth disease by another doctor . Can i continue to give Atarax syrup as per the previous dose?

A. yes can give it is important to follow the instructions and medicines course given by your doctor for the problem . they are safe if given by registered medical practitioner. do not undertake medicines or medical procedures not prescribed / guided by the doctor. take a follow up in few days if it is not improving for need of treatment modification

Then you should stop giving the medicine because it was an anti-allergic and if your child is already diagnosed with hand foot and mouth disease and Dr must have advised you with another medication so you should go ahead with that rather than continuing with the medication that was given by the previous Dr
