Q.

Doctor my toddler is two years three months old and half an hour before her left eye got red and a red dot appeared , after applying optifucin eye cream which was suggested by her doc in Qatar the redness got reduced but the dot is still there , pls advise what to do next , is it something serious.

A. Sometimes small blood vessels in the white of the eye can break, causing a red spot or speck. This is called a subconjunctival hemorrhage. The blood vessels may break when your child sneezes, coughs, vomits, strains, or bends over.
