Q.

Doctor my 6 month old girl child had redness around labia of urinary region for past 20 days,consulted doctor he gave diaper rash cream but usually am not using diaper atal,again visited doctor he gave econorm sachet for 5 days and cream advised not to give mother milk alter with Prolac powder,am used only sachet it subsided again sometimes after urinating it turns mild redness over urinary skin region her urine was so hot sometimes she had struggling,,,now she is okay,,,but sometime it became redness sometimes it is healing,,, am applying coconut oil,, around her urinary region,,,am worrying lot, please help me doctor,, what would the reason for this?? what should I do, am washing ever time after her urination,,,

A. Oatmeal is a tried and tested remedy for diaper rash in babies. It provides relief from the pain. You can take a tablespoon of dried oatmeal and mix it in bathwater. Make your baby sit in the bath (hold him if he is too young and can’t balance himself) for 5-10 minutes, then pat dry his skin. Be gentle and do not rub as rubbing will only aggravate the condition. If the diaper rash is severe, then try this remedy twice a day for best results.
