doctor, is it okay for a baby to pass motion after each feed? when can we call it diarrhea?

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 11 m old girl3 years agoA. when it is liquid type . Loose stool may be sign of any viral infection or any food poisoning . Limit of milk along with probiotics like enterogermina and zinc will help In these . ORS is to be given in sufficient quantity as baby drink to prevent any dehydration .

AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 10 m old boy3 years agoA. Hi mom. Yes it is very much normal in babies to pass out motion after every feed. If ur baby is active and comfortable otherwise, passing out urine 6-8 times in a day, gaining weight then no need to worry.. When the motions are excessively watery and frequent then this is diarrhoea.
