1. Increase Fiber-Rich Foods: Fruits: Offer mashed banana, papaya, pear, prune, or apple puree (avoid too many bananas if constipation persists). Vegetables: Give steamed carrots, pumpkin, and spinach in pureed or mashed form. Whole grains: Serve oats, dalia, or brown rice khichdi instead of refined grains. 2. Keep Baby Hydrated: Offer sips of warm water between meals (small amounts). Give homemade soups (vegetable or dal soup). 3. Use Natural Laxatives (Baby-Safe): Prune juice or soaked raisins water (soak raisins overnight, mash, and give the water). Few drops of ghee in food can help lubricate the intestines. 4. Massage & Movement: Tummy massage (gentle clockwise strokes) helps bowel movements. Encourage crawling and leg exercises (cycling motion with legs). 5. Avoid Constipating Foods: Too much rice cereal, formula milk, or dairy can worsen constipation. Reduce processed baby foods if used.
If constipation lasts more than a few days, stools are hard/painful, or there’s blood in stools, consult a pediatrician. Let me know if you need more guidance!
