Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul byvsmell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

Yes you can be giving it to the child regularly as of now along with that give good amount of curd and banana and stop giving milk for the time being because that is going to increase the number of loose motions and start with a probiotic suggested by the doctor
