1 Answer

A. Lymph nodes can always be felt in the neck and groin. They are about the size of a bean. They never go away. But more often than not, minor infection or illness is the cause. They should go away as soon as your condition clears up. If you have swollen lymph nodes that don't go away or seem to grow over time, see your healthcare provider. You may have a more serious condition that needs proper diagnosis and treatment. In many cases, swelling reduces and then disappears within 2 to 3 weeks once the body has successfully fought the infection. If the problem persists for longer than a couple of weeks, it might warrant a visit to the doctor. Other reasons to visit the doctor include: a lymph node that feels hard or rubbery to the touch.
