Can I give jaggery to 6 month old baby ?

A. yes you can give jaggery to the baby in small amounts. jaggery is much better than sugar. just add a little bit...a very piece of it to the food.  not too much also. jaggery induces hunger in baby, it releases energy also slowly compared to sugar which releases instantaneously. it provides warmth in winters also. it also contains a bit of iron as it is cooked in an iron vessel. so all good things in jaggery.
