SailathaMom of 3 children3 weeks agoA. Yes, at 8 months you can start finger foods if baby sits well and tries to grab food.
Give soft, finger-length pieces (not round) so baby can hold and gum them easily. Good options: boiled carrot/potato/sweet potato strips, ripe banana or avocado strips, soft idli/roti pieces, small paneer pieces.
Avoid honey, too much salt/sugar, and round hard foods like whole grapes or nuts (choking risk). Always supervise while baby eats.

Dipti jadhavMom of a 8 m old girl3 weeks agoA. Yes ❤️ You can definitely give finger foods to an 8-month-old baby. In fact, it’s a great age to start encouraging self-feeding.
For Moon, you can try:
🥕 Soft-cooked carrot
🥔 Soft potato or sweet potato
🥦 Well-cooked broccoli
🍌 Banana pieces
🥑 Soft avocado
🫓 Soft bhakri/roti strips
🥚 Well-cooked egg pieces
🥞 Soft homemade mini idli or dosa pieces
Safety tip: The food should be soft enough to mash easily between two fingers. Always let her eat while sitting upright and supervise her throughout the meal.
Avoid choking hazards such as whole grapes, raw carrot, nuts, popcorn, and hard apple pieces. ❤️
