A. For an 8-month-old baby, it’s important to focus on foods that support strong nerves and bone development. Breast milk or formula should remain a primary source of nutrition as it provides essential nutrients like calcium, which is crucial for bone growth. Additionally, introduce mashed or pureed foods rich in calcium, vitamin D, and magnesium, such as yogurt, cottage cheese, and leafy greens (in a baby-safe form). Foods like pureed fish (such as salmon), eggs, and fortified cereals are great for providing vitamin D, which helps with calcium absorption. Iron-rich foods like lentils, pureed meats, and spinach support nerve health by improving oxygen flow to the brain and muscles. Healthy fats from avocados and nuts (in paste form) are also beneficial for nerve development, as they support the protective layer around nerves (myelin). As always, ensure that new foods are introduced gradually and in forms appropriate for your baby's age to avoid choking hazards.
