RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl4 years agoA. Hello ma’am For initial six months whatever weight a child gains is with the breast feed or with a formula feed whatever you are giving to the child. So the basic calculation behind the wait is if your child gains somewhere around 500 g to 1 KG every month and that is considered a good weight gain and if the birth weight double by the age of six months and that’s a very healthy weight gain
