Green colour stool is normal only.if baby is passing urine minimum 6-8 times per day
Don't give so much importance to motion unless blood in motion or bad smelling motion.a lot of green vegetables or something with green food colouring in mom 's diet can also cause green colour motion in baby.
POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. If your 5-month-old baby is passing green stools, it can be normal, especially for breastfed babies. Green stools can happen for several reasons:
Breastfeeding changes: Sometimes, green stools happen if the baby is getting more foremilk (the watery milk at the start of a feed) and less hindmilk (the richer, fatty milk at the end). This can make stools appear green.
Formula feeding: Some formulas can lead to green stools due to the ingredients, especially iron-enriched formulas.
Teething: Babies often pass green stools when teething due to excess saliva and changes in digestion.
Stomach upset or mild infection: If the baby has a mild stomach issue or a minor infection, the stool might be green.
When to worry: If the green stools are accompanied by other symptoms, like fever, vomiting, poor feeding, or diarrhea, it’s best to consult a pediatrician to rule out any infection or digestive issue.
If your baby is active, feeding well, and not showing any other concerning symptoms, green stools are usually not a cause for alarm.
