#askthepeadiatric #pleaserhelp Hello my daughter is having continuous cold and cough since 1 month . I have shown the doc he said that her chest is clear. I even got a chest x ray which is clear. She mostly coughs at night while is asleep. I have given her medication like criz m cetzine soventus junior syrup but nothing is helping. She coughs a lot at night and he r nose is blocked . What can be the reason. ?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a propgfer evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fevefr is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

It could be a possibility that your child may be suffering with some allergy so once you get a check with your doctor because that will only you rather be more sure about it and according to that once we start with an allergy treatment the child is going to be much better after thatWrite Your Answer Here
