When you give food for the first time to 6 months old start with liquids that is thin dal, thin Upma, rice kanji, steamed and puréed fruits or vegetables, soups, coconut water
Start with 4-5 tsp twice a days and then slowly increase quantity and frequency
Do not add salt and sugar till the child turns 1 year old
U can start giving food in nibbler but start slowly and give one fruit for 3 days and do not change to different food
