#AsktheExperts whenever my son laughs whole heartedly or cries profusely, he starts getting hiccups. Is this normal?

A. this is because of irritation of diaphragm For further advice it is advisable to consult your local doctor for appropriate examination if there is need for investigations also then only proper treatment can be given to you o . K .

A. It has to do with nerves that are related to your vagus (which conveys sensory information about the state of the body's organs to the central nervous system). But unlike the city, what happens in vagus doesn't stay in vagus, so you hiccup as well as laugh.
