Q.

#asktheexperts We introduced cows milk and banana for the first time to my 5month old 2 days back. He seemed constipated and passed really dry hard stool. So we reduced banana/cow milk n gave him carrot water thinking it will pass. We dint give cow milk or Banana today . After trying really hard he passed really dry hard stool with lots of black bits. I was advised to stop cows milk till he s 1 and stop banana until he s 6months by another pediatrician today. Will the baby need medication or will he find relief once i switch back to breastmilk/formula?

A. Your doctor is right stop giving banana and even cow milk till one year of age as banana is full of fibre and might cause constipation in babies under six months of age and keep feeding on regular intervals
