as baby's weight depends mostly on his birth weight, we can expect baby to gain about 500 gm to 1 kg in a month, double at 6 months and triple at the age of 1 year. small deviation is absolutely fine.
as your baby is of 6 months, would advise to continue exclusive breastfeeding for complete 6 months and after that you can start with weaning foods like rice water, dal water, fruit puree, vegetables puree, smashed banana, boiled and smashed potato, homemade cerelac, porridge, etc along with breastfeeding.
slowly introduce any food and check if any sign of allergy, intolerance or discomfort.
gradually increase consistency and quantity as per baby's appetite.
feed on regular intervals after 2 hours
follow good hygiene
avoid force feeding and overfeeding.
NikithaMom of a 10 yr 9 m old boy4 years agoA. hello some babies can be slow weight gainers and if the baby is active then weight is not a problem and make sure to give your child HEALTHY AND NUTRITIOUS food in the diet and and now since baby as completted six months you may give ragi and also include ghee curds banana avacadoes potatoes and sweet potatoes etc
