Q.
#asktheexperts she is 2.11 and she speaks words at her own convenience but when we ask her her name she wouldn't say it other than that she sings jingles and all she says no, stop, water , can name all animals, birds flowers people but not her. also everyday things she d mostly point out and not speak about it is there a delay in speech? please advise

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 days agoA. dear mum , if child is able to speak in 2 word sentences , comes when u call from other room , has eye contact in conversation , is able to follow simple 2 step instructions then not a problem follow ur concern , speech milestone with pediatrician

If your child can do so many things I don’t think so so it’s a delay in this speech I think it’s a delay in terms of understanding something specially it’s me you also have to check have you given a lot of screen time to the child specially to teach these can be a very big reason behind delay understanding the speech of the child
