Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also.
Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc.
Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite like iron deficiency which is motst common.
Supplements like iron supplements and multivitamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can be given for 1-2 months to increase the appetbite.
Diet counselling is also very important .

I do not know what is the current weight of your child that you are referring it to as low but I would just like to tell you that if you go ahead with giving veg and non-veg both kind of proteins to the child it’s certainly going to be very healthy in the long run for the child
