#asktheexperts my son is having wheezing. started with cough and cold and it's been there since a month. doctor suggested to give only inhaler. his cough has not been reduced and he has running nose since yesterday. he is getting difficult to sleep at night. please suggest me some remedies

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated withhf anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

If You start nebulising your child along with that if you start to give indirect steam to the China now with the medications that I’m sure it is going to work better for the child also going to tell you that you should do it for at least a minimum of 5 to 7 days twice in a day
