Because diarrhea in an 8-month-old can quickly lead to dehydration, the most important step is to call or visit your pediatrician immediately.Persistent diarrhea (lasting over 7 days) needs a professional evaluation to find the underlying cause, whether it's viral, bacterial, or a food sensitivity.
