Q.
#asktheexperts my son cries a lot throughout the day. He is colic through the day and a lot in the evening. Medicines provide relief only for 2/3 hours and then again he starts crying. He turn’s completely red while doing so. How can I help him so he can stop crying, because he gets tired crying soo much and because he has colic pain he cannot take feeds when he is hungry.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. the recurrent stretching / curving of the body again and again as well as uncomfort / making grunting sounds as well as hiccups as well as colic pain all are due to gas in the intestine and stomach.
it is very important that after giving milk to the child you
should keep the child in upright position and do burping for 15 to 20 minutes(irrespective that you hear the burps or not). gas in stomach causes hiccups.
do not keep the child back on the bed after 1 burping because one time burping will not remove all the gas and if the gas is not removed properly itz goes into intestine causing abnormal distension and that will lead to colic pain again and again.
keep the child in upright position whether you hear the burping sound or not and also it is not important that you will hearz the sound when the child removes the air from the oral cavity.
