#asktheexperts my Gynaec started metformin 500 mg as sugar after 1 hr was 220 at 29 weeks. Will it be enough to control sugar levels along with controlled diet?

A. Hello! Metformin is the Common treatment for GDM. My sister was also advised the same, but with a proper controlled diet, which usually involved monitoring carbohydrate intake and to avoid sugar spikes. Take the medication as prescribed and stick to the recommended meal plan.

A. Mam along with that if you follow a proper diet then it is going to be really very good for you throughout your pregnancy and post your pregnancy also so the medicine that has been given is good but having diet restrictions is also going to help you
