Q.

#asktheexperts My daughter is not taking mother feed from the first day. We gave her nestle lactogen milk powder for 3 months the same quantity as mentioned on the box. Nowadays we are giving cow milk to our baby but we are not sure how much quantity of milk is to be given to her and after how much gap of time. So kindly suggest me what to do . Thanks

A. First, it is not recommended to give any other milk other than breastmilk or formula to the baby till atleast 1 year. Cow or Buffalo milk both are very heavy to digest for the baby and it may hamper the immunity, can cause indigestion, vomiting and loss of appetite. It would be better to keep feeding formula milk only right now. Always mix a scoop of formula with every 30 ml of pre-boiled lukewarm water.
