Q.
#asktheexperts my daughter is 2 months old.. exclusive breastfeeding baby..she is urinating well and weight is 4.8.but she is passing motion only once/twice in a week.and sometimes she is crying excessively for 10mins because of gas..is it normal?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. it is totally normal for small children less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also.
it is alsoo normal if they are passing stool more than 6 or 7 times per day.
if the consistency of the stool is Semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as the colour (the colour can range from yellow brown green to black) of the stool.
also straining while passing urine and stool is normal.
Do burping for 15 to 20 minutes

I suggest you please consult with your pediatrician about this matter because physical examination of child is important for proper diagnosis and treatment
