Q.

#asktheexperts my daughter is 2.5yrs. Lost some weight due viral fever lost month. Her current weight is 11.5kg. should I be concerned?

A. no it is very common that during the disease process the child will have loss of appetite as well as after the disease the child will have decreased appetite for food and this will last for at least one week. you have to provide plenty of water to drink and you can give food rich in fluids as well as juice extracted from fruits which will help in improving the appetite. if if the child is havingg nutritional deficiency the doctor will add multivitamin supplements to increase the appetite. t

A. As long as your baby's growth is steady, there's usually no reason to worry. If you think growth has slowed or your baby's had a drop in weight, the doctor may ask: Has your baby been sick? A couple days of not eating, especially if combined with vomiting or diarrhea, can lead to weight loss.
