#asktheexperts my babys total bilburin level was 13.3 on her 12th day she is now in home care please suggest how to monitor if jaundice is cured.her face still has some yellowiish ness

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. the jaundice will go away gradually no need to worry and does not require any other treatment just a regular breastfeeding will help in decreasing the jaundice and the yellow skin and eyes will become normal by one to one and a half months

Its Still on the higher side the normal range is about 5.5 but as of now I will tell you to keep your child into indirect sunlight for at least 40 minutes in the morning because that way your child’s body is going to absorb good amount of vitamin D and this yellow tent is going to settle down slowly gradually so make sure that you do it for at least 3 to 4 months in general also it is a very good practice
