My baby is 8 months old and weighs 8.3
kg. He has been taking solids since he turned 6 months old and is fed 3 meals a day plus some fruit snack. But he doesn't sleeps well. Since he was 4 months old he keeps waking throughout the night and it is same everyday. He wakes up after every half an hour or every hour. Even during the daytime he takes 2 naps and that too of 25 mins each. It is manageable during the day but during night it is very difficult. Somedays he wakes up more than 10-15 times during the night. He is happy and plays well during the daytime. Please advise.
He eats well so there is not an issue of him being hungry.

A. Hello mom
thanks a ton for sharing this as I was feeling the same for my baby that she should be given solids more than she is having now. she eats chapati mashed with dal, it's her favourite, LL add khichdi etc as per your suggestion. and will surely post if her sleep improves.

A. Hi Mansi,
So I tried a lot of things and finally his sleep has improved by quite some extent. My sister too faced the same problem with her daughter and let me tell you it is worst during 7-10 months. I guess it improves with time. But there are few things you can try. Don't let the baby take second nap close to sleeping time. So if my baby takes a nap by 4 pm then he sleeps well by 10 pm but if he takes his nap by 7:30 or 8:00 then he sleeps late close to 12 in the night. Other thing you can try is finding out the reason for discomfort in your baby. For my baby was lot of gas and I think he felt pain in his stomach which we cannot understand. So I stopped dietary products in my diet and now both of us are lot less gasy. My eating habits were affecting him because he takes breastmilk. And ofcourse as we can't sleep on empty stomach or by just drinking milk, same goes for babies after 6 months. So try feeding solids to baby that can keep her full and make the afternoon meal heavy for her so that it gets digested at sleeping time and she gets her dose of energy. I was making one mistake in this feeding solids part and that was I was feeding a bowl full of fruits in his afternoon diet. So that was making him full but is was acting in the same way as we feel on days of fasting. It subsides our hunger but we are not fully satisfied untill we eat grains. Let me give you an idea of his diet now - I feed him a bowl of daliya in the morning, then moong and masoor daal khichdi in afternoon and at night it is one small chapati grinded with vegetables. In between these meals I feed him bits of fruits without any pressure. So for example at 4 pm in evening when I might feel like eating something I eat some grapes and he also eats some along with me. So the idea is to incorporate fruits along with heavy solid diet. Trust me it will take some time but you will definitely see some changes in a week or two. It will not be an immediate effect but a gradual one. I was also frustrated and thought that it is not working but then to my surprise it did work. Now he sleeps much better than before. So don't loose hope and stick to your plan, whatsoever you decide. All the best and do let me know if things improve.

A. Hello mom,
my baby 7 month old baby girl does the same at night. firstly doctors said keep baby full and start solids so I introduced solids at 5.5 months and she is full before bedtime but still no difference then I changed my pediatrician and he said the baby is teething that's why baby is not able to sleep but now her lower two teeth have also come and she weighs 8.5kg and is very active throughout the day as well and sleeps for just 1-2 hours in the entire day and also sleeps too late around 2-3am at night and after that also keeps waking up after every half hour to one hour and settles only when I feed her. Please suggest the same if your baby has overcome sleep issue by some remedy you tried.
Thanks a lot in advance
