#asktheexperts my baby got swelling in the right arm where the injection was given. how to treat it.

A. when fever comes after vaccination you can give paracetamol to the child for fever as well as pain. paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day. you can also apply ice over the injection site. if there is local swelling you can apply ice as well as thrombophob gel. vaccine fever usually subsides in max 2 to 3 days but if it continues beyond 3 days meet your dr to rule out any other causes of fever sometimes the swelling will go away in one or two months or so but do not worry about it

A. Hello mom It will get normal by its own in next 24 hours so you should not worry about it at all and leave it as it is so there is nothing to worry about. Just try to keep your baby normal room temperature and don’t change the temperature of surroundings frequently. And continue giving a medication if your baby is having a fever
