A. Itching in the eyes and on the head of a five-month-old baby could be due to dryness, cradle cap, or an allergic reaction. Gently clean her eyes with a soft, damp cloth and avoid using any strong soaps or lotions near her face. For the scalp, use a mild baby shampoo and brush her hair softly with a baby comb to remove flakes if cradle cap is present. Keep her nails trimmed to prevent scratching. If the itching is severe, persistent, or accompanied by redness or swelling, consult a pediatrician to rule out allergies or infections and get appropriate treatment.
