Q.

#AsktheExperts My 3 month old baby to undergo cleft lips surgery in a week and haemoglobin level is 9.9.doctor advised tonoferon drops 1ml per day till 3 months.is the quantity ok or more?baby weight is 5kg.

A. yes the dose is fine it is very important to give iron supplements to the child because the diet before 1 year of age is having very less amount of iron and it is very common that if the child is not given iron supplements the child will suffer from iron deficiency anaemia so better to continue iron supplements given by your doctor

A. You do not have to give 1ML in one go you can give 0.5 ML twice in a day and that’s a normal thing to be given to the child during this age your child haemoglobin should be proper that is why your doctor must be advising you and that’s completely alright you can go ahead with that
