#asktheexperts My 11 month weight is 7.7 kg . She is not gaining weight properly.. her birth weight is 3.2

A. Dear mum, though your baby’s weight gain has been less, weight of 7.7 kg is a normal weight at 11 months. Also, if your baby is active, playful and achieving all growth milestones then do not worry. For healthy weight gain, give homemade balanced diet having variety of food groups especially seasonal fruits and vegetables even green leafy vegetables. You can give eggs and non veg food. Add powdered nuts like almonds to baby’s food. Add ghee to every meal. Use full cream top milk to prepare recipes like porridge, kheer and give as milk products like curd, paneer, cheese. Give top food 3 to 4 times a day and up to three fourth katori every time. Continue to breastfeed baby.

A. Hello mom by the age of 4 to 6 months babies double their birth weight and by the age of one year they triple their birth weight. A little variation is acceptable as far as the baby is active for his age and eating well
