#AsktheExperts My 10month old is suffering from runny nose and cough due to mucous.Consulted peadeatrician and he gave snecus syrup. Kindly suggest some other medication to get rid of mucous and runny nose

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of some allergy or viral infection and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough and throat irritation and usually associated .
Treatment consists of antihistamines antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine .
steam inhalation would be beneficial .
Medicines like febrrx plus / sinarest / Ascoril flu can be used igdn a proper dose for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .
Steam inhalation is very helpful .
