Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. there are number of reasons of excessive crying in children because it can be either due to some type of colic pain or digestion problem or due to some type of nasal blockage abdominal pain or any body pain / ear ache.
so if it is not improving meet your doctor and for pain you can give one dosage of paracetamol.r
if it appears to be colic pain you can give anti colic medicine and if it is due to nasal blockage you can give nasal saline drops.
many times changing the environment of the child helps as well as diverting the child helps.

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. When a one-year-old baby is crying a lot at night, it can be distressing for both the child and the parents. Here are some steps you can take to help soothe your baby:
1. **Check for Basic Needs**: Ensure that your baby isn't hungry, thirsty, or in need of a diaper change.
2. **Comfort and Reassure**: Hold your baby, rock them gently, or speak to them in a soothing voice to provide comfort.
3. **Check for Illness**: Look for signs of illness such as fever, ear pulling (which can indicate an ear infection), or other symptoms. If you suspect your baby is sick, consult a pediatrician.
4. **Teething**: Teething can cause discomfort and pain, leading to nighttime crying. You can offer a teething toy or consult your doctor for appropriate pain relief options.
5. **Establish a Bedtime Routine**: A consistent bedtime routine can help signal to your baby that it’s time to sleep. This might include a bath, reading a book, or gentle lullabies.
6. **Create a Comfortable Sleep Environment**: Ensure the room is dark, quiet, and at a comfortable temperature. A white noise machine can help mask background noises.
7. **Offer a Pacifier**: If your baby uses a pacifier, it can provide comfort and help them self-soothe.
8. **Monitor Sleep Patterns**: Sometimes, disruptions in sleep patterns can lead to nighttime waking and crying. Try to maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
If your baby continues to cry excessively and you are unable to determine the cause, it is important to consult with a pediatrician to rule out any underlying medical issues.
