POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due this month3 months agoA. You don’t need to steam all fruits for your baby — it depends on the baby’s age and the type of fruit.
For babies under 8–9 months, fruits that are hard or difficult to digest (like apple, pear, or plum) should be steamed or cooked and mashed to make them soft and easier to digest.
However, soft fruits like:
Banana Chikoo (sapota) Papaya Mango can be given raw and mashed even to younger babies.
As your baby gets used to solids and is older than 9 months, you can gradually introduce small pieces of soft raw fruits (well washed and peeled). Always watch for choking hazards and introduce one fruit at a time to check for allergies.
