#asktheexperts I would like to know whether a swine flu vaccine is necessary every year for my child after her infection with H1N1 when she was 2 years old.

A. Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine basically protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children with less immunity. Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be given to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 months of age and initially two doses are given one month apart then every year single dose is required . It is not documented but still studies suggest that to some exh.tent it may give partial protection against covid infection .
