#asktheexperts I want to ask babies weight related concern her current weight is 4.2 kg burth weight is 2.9kg Is her current weight gain appropriate for her age or should i concern?

Rashmi GuptaMom of a 12 yr old girl3 hours agoA. It is very good your child has gained 1300 g in two months which is better than the expected weight gain expectation is 500 g in a month your child has got approximately 650 g in a month which is good enough and good growth for your child

There should be a minimum weight gain of 400 to 500 g per month in the first few months after birth. Continue to exclusively breastfeed your baby on demand and keep your doctor informed about any changes or concerns.
