Q.

#asktheexperts I have PCOS and irregular periods. I got pregnant, but since my periods are irregular, I don’t remember my last period date. I came to know I was pregnant at around 7 weeks. Based on her calculations, my gynecologist gave my LMP as July 21, 2025. According to my gynecologist, as of today I am 37 weeks pregnant. But when I got scans done, they showed a different gestational age. In my last BPP scan, it showed 33 weeks 5 days — almost a 3-week difference. Now I’m confused about which one I should consider — my doctor’s calculation or the scan results.”

A. The estimated delivery date given in the early scans especially which was less than eight weeks is more reliable than the one in the recent scans. Difference of more than 3 weeks could mean growth restriction
