Q.

#asktheexperts I have fever. can I breastfeed my baby? she is 2 month old and she is also having fever? please suggest.

A. yes, you can feed your baby.. During any “ordinary” illness such as a cold, sore throat, flu, wirms infestation, fever, mastitis, etc. you should continue to breastfeed. breastfeeding should continue without interruption as there is no risk to the baby. If you need to take antibiotics or other medicine, just check with your doctor first. it’s still important to make sure you wash your hands often, avoid coughing or sneezing near your baby

A. Hello dear parent! You can definitely continue breastfeeding your baby unless you are on a very high medication that is not suitable while breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for evaluation and advice. Give a light sponge bath to reduce the intensity of the fever. Follow your doctor’s instructions diligently.
