Make sure the kid stick to the rules and routine as set by you. Abiding by it will make the kid more in control of his behaviour.
Tell about the consequences of misbehaviour : Try out constructive punishments for your kid. Like if he yells at someone, keep him away from everyone till the time he calms down. If he has hurt someone purposely, make him put an ointment or band aid on the injury.
Teach self control : Make the kid aware of repercussion of bad behaviour and thus can choose how to behave.
Encourage Positive Behaviour : Good behaviour should be rewarded. This will encourage kids to behave well. Reward your kid by taking him for an unexpected outing or a pizza treat in the middle of a week. Praise your kid when he does a good deed or practices good behaviour. This will help boost his self esteem.
Set a good example : Parents should practice what they preach. For example, if you are asking your kid's not to be rude but the parents themselves are shouting at maid or security.
