Q.

#asktheexperts Hi...my two month old son is always having hiccups when lying on bed more than 10 mins..sometimes he is having hiccups after 15 mins of feeding..and hiccups lasts upto 15 to 20 mims..what can i do ?..pls help me

A. hiccups in children occur due to gas which is present in the stomach. during the feeding process child takes air along with milk and that air goes inside the stomach which irritates leading to hiccups. you have to offer feeding as well as do proper burping(for atleast 20 minutes) to decrease this problem and it is a self limiting problem during the process just give breastfeeding again and keep the child in upright position for burping which will stop the episode
