Q.

#asktheexperts hi mam, when I was pregnant I got thyroid so doctor told to use 25mg dose tablets. Should I continue using the tablets or I can stop after the delivery?

A. After you have delivered you have to keep checking your thyroid status at least every three months once and you have to continue the medication also and depending upon the reports the dosage will be changedWrite Your Answer Here

A. Hello, If pregnant women are treated with L-thyroxine for isolated maternal hypothyroxinaemia, they too can stop the drug after delivery. We suggest these women, who stop L-thyroxine after delivery, should have an assessment of thyroid function about 6 weeks after the delivery," Dr. Vaidya added
